2. 2 ounces of hot water (about 175°F or 80°C)
3. 8 ounces of milk (dairy or non-dairy)
4. Sweetener (optional, to taste)

1. Matcha whisk (chasen) or a regular whisk
2. Small bowl
3. Milk frother or a saucepan

**Instructions:**

1. **Prepare the Matcha:**
- Sift 1-2 teaspoons of matcha powder into a small bowl to remove any lumps.
- Add 2 ounces of hot water (not boiling) to the bowl.
- Whisk the matcha and hot water together using a matcha whisk (chasen) or a regular whisk until it becomes frothy and smooth.

2. **Heat the Milk:**
- Heat 8 ounces of milk in a saucepan over medium heat until it’s hot but not boiling.
- Alternatively, you can heat the milk in a microwave.

3. **Froth the Milk:**
- Use a milk frother to froth the heated milk until it becomes creamy and foamy.
- If you don't have a frother, you can whisk the milk vigorously by hand or use a blender.

- Pour the frothy milk into a mug.
- Add the whisked matcha to the mug and stir gently to combine.
